How much does Facebook advertising cost? Meta budget and management fees separately
A sensible minimum budget is PLN 30 daily, or PLN 900 monthly, plus management fees. CPM, CPC, the learning phase and agency pricing explained.
How much does Facebook advertising cost? Two amounts, not one
The question has two answers, which causes most misunderstandings in an initial campaign discussion. You pay in two places:
- Advertising budget for Meta: money for impressions and clicks, charged directly to your card by Meta. A realistic starting point is around PLN 30 a day, or PLN 900 per month for one ad set.
- Management fee: payment for the person or agency that structures, writes, cuts and optimises the campaign. We charge PLN 1,500 for setup + PLN 1,500 / month, with a minimum three-month agreement.
These are two different invoices, two accounts and two charging mechanisms. The Meta budget grows in line with the reach you want to buy. The management fee does not: ten times the budget does not mean ten times the account work.
Clients often confuse them. Someone hears “a campaign for PLN 1,500” and assumes it includes everything, including impressions. Or they pay PLN 500 to Meta, click “Boost post” themselves and wonder why it brings no enquiries.
This article breaks down both amounts. We start with the Meta auction, because it explains why the same budget produces different results for two businesses. Then we cover a sensible minimum daily budget, the learning phase and management pricing.
Read onHow Meta calculates advertising costs
There is no price list. Every available ad placement in the feed goes through an auction, and you bid against all other advertisers trying to reach the same person. Meta chooses the winner based on three things together: your bid, the estimated likelihood of the user taking the desired action, and the quality of the ad itself.
The last factor matters more than you might think. An ad that people watch and click wins auctions more cheaply than a dull ad with the same bid. Meta earns from user attention, so it rewards creative that holds it.
Two main metrics describe the costs:
- CPM: cost per thousand impressions. In Poland, usually PLN 15-45, depending on the industry and audience.
- CPC: cost per click. Usually PLN 0.40-2.50, though narrow B2B audiences can exceed PLN 4.
These figures are money paid to Meta, not the agency. Treat them as indicative market ranges. No honest provider can give you an exact CPM before launch because it depends on the industry, season and competition for your audience. In November, rates rise by several dozen percent as you bid against the whole e-commerce market during Black Friday.
What can you actually influence? The budget, campaign objective, audience, creative and destination page. You cannot control auction prices directly, but you can affect them indirectly through the quality of what you put into the system.
What drives up Facebook advertising costs
Four things most often increase customer acquisition cost even when the budget stays the same.
An audience that is too narrow. A classic mistake by businesses seeking “precise targeting”: they stack six filters and end up with 8,000 people. The algorithm has no room to work, repeatedly shows ads to the same people, and frequency rises along with CPM. For conversion campaigns, an audience below 100,000 almost always costs more than a broad audience with good behavioural targeting.
Weak creative. A stock image with “check our offer” costs more in the auction than a phone video in which the business owner says three specific things. Creative also wears out: after 3-4 weeks, the same ad starts costing more per click. That is why we refresh creative regularly during ongoing management, not once a quarter.
Schedule creative refreshes: after 3-4 weeks, the same ad starts costing more for the same click. Prepare new material before costs rise, rather than after performance drops.
The wrong landing page. An ad can be excellent, but if the click leads to a homepage that takes four seconds to load, you pay for the click and get nothing. A dedicated campaign landing page costs PLN 1,800-2,800 once and, for a longer campaign, pays back faster than any bid optimisation.
Seasonality. The fourth quarter, sales periods and industry holidays all mean the same budget buys less. If your sales are not tied to November, move intensive campaigns to quieter months.
A sensible minimum daily budget
Meta lets you start with a few PLN a day. That is a trap: it works technically, but not commercially.
For a conversion campaign, the algorithm needs events to understand whom to look for. If a lead in your industry costs PLN 40 and you spend PLN 15 a day, the system collects less than one event daily. After a week it has five data points. That is too little to draw conclusions, so it serves the ad more or less randomly while you pay for the experiment.
The thresholds we use:
- Reach or website traffic campaign: from PLN 20 daily per ad set.
- Lead or sales campaign: from PLN 30 daily per ad set, or PLN 50 in more expensive industries.
- Remarketing to previous website visitors: from PLN 15 daily, because the audience is small and warm.
A rule that saves more budgets than targeting tricks: one properly funded ad set is better than four starved sets at PLN 10 each. Splitting the budget “to test things” is the most common way businesses waste their first month.
How much must you spend before results mean anything?
Meta states it directly in its documentation: an ad set leaves the learning phase after roughly 50 optimisation events within seven days. Until then, costs fluctuate and the statistics do not describe stable performance.
Calculate it using your own figures. A PLN 40 lead multiplied by 50 events means PLN 2,000 in one week for one ad set. For an online store at PLN 25 per purchase, it is PLN 1,250. If your budget is smaller, learning simply takes longer: two or three weeks instead of one.
That is why our ongoing management has a three-month minimum. It is not a clause designed to tie you down. The first month goes into leaving the learning phase and removing creative that does not work. The second scales what remains. The third shows what a Facebook customer actually costs your business. Judging a campaign after ten days is like weighing yourself after one workout.

How much does Facebook Ads management cost?
This is the second amount. It pays for account work rather than Meta: campaign structure, pixel and events, creative, tests, removing what fails to deliver, and a monthly report with figures.

Setup is one-off work that does not appear in reports but makes everything else possible: Business Manager under your company, pixel, conversion events, domain verification and a product catalogue for a store. It is done once and then works.
The one-off model with a budget commission makes sense for an event or seasonal promotion when a campaign lasts two weeks and there is nothing to optimise for a quarter. For continuous customer acquisition, a fixed fee is cheaper and predictable. The complete breakdown is in our agency price list.
When to use Facebook Ads and when Google Ads is better
The difference comes down to one thing: on Google, someone is already looking for what you sell. On Facebook, you interrupt their scrolling.
Facebook Ads works when people need to see a product to want it, when you sell to a specific demographic, or when you build awareness of a new brand. It also performs strongly in remarketing: recovering abandoned baskets usually produces the cheapest conversions in the account.
Google Ads wins where demand already exists and the customer searches for “plumber Białystok” or “air conditioning servicing”. Clicks can cost more, but purchase intent is stronger too. If you are comparing budgets for both channels, our separate article on Google Ads costs breaks down media rates and management fees in the same way.
With PLN 2,000 per month for media, we usually advise against splitting it across two channels. One channel properly developed achieves more than two half-funded channels. Also consider TikTok advertising if your audience is younger: reach can cost less there than on Facebook.
Warning signs when choosing a provider
Three signals that should end the conversation.
“We guarantee 50 leads per month.” Nobody controls Meta auctions, seasonality or how many competitors enter your market next month. A lead guarantee means either stretching the definition of a lead, such as a form click nobody responds to, or adding more of your money to deliver the promise at any cost. A provider can promise a process and reporting, not numbers.
No access to your own ad account. The ad account and Business Manager must belong to your company, with the agency receiving partner access. If campaigns run in the agency account, ending the relationship means losing campaign history, pixel data and lookalike audiences collected over months. You start from scratch with the next provider.
One combined invoice without a breakdown. If you cannot see separately how much went to Meta and how much to management, you cannot calculate customer acquisition cost. Without that figure, you do not know whether advertising generates profit or merely traffic.
The actual first-month total
Let us add it up for a service business in Białystok starting from scratch:
- Account, pixel and campaign setup: PLN 1,500 once
- First-month management: PLN 1,500
- Meta budget at PLN 30 daily: about PLN 900
- First-month total: about PLN 3,900, followed by about PLN 2,400 per month
For an online store, the advertising budget is usually higher because scaling sales requires greater reach. PLN 3,000-5,000 per month for Meta is a typical level, with the same management fee. That shows the difference between the two amounts most clearly: you scale the advertising budget with the business, while management costs stay the same.
If those figures are too high to start with, SEO can be a more sensible first step. It is slower, but traffic does not disappear on the day you switch off a campaign. Facebook advertising delivers immediately and stops immediately.

Summary: what to remember
Facebook advertising costs money in two places: the Meta budget grows with reach, while management fees remain the same regardless of impression spend. Meta has an auction rather than a price list, and ads that hold attention win cheaper placements. That is why creative, audience and landing page affect cost, not just the bid. A sensible starting point for lead campaigns is around PLN 30 daily per ad set, with one fully funded set rather than four starved ones. Results start to mean something after the learning phase, around 50 events per week, which explains the three-month minimum for ongoing management. Get ownership right from day one: the ad account and Business Manager must be yours, and the invoice must show Meta spend separately.
FAQ: common questions about Facebook advertising costs
Six questions about money and account ownership that come up when launching a campaign. These are the short answers; the figures and mechanics appear in the sections above.
How much does Facebook advertising cost per month?
There are two separate amounts. The advertising budget paid to Meta realistically starts at PLN 900 per month (PLN 30 daily for one ad set) and grows with the reach you want to buy. Our agency management costs PLN 1,500 for setup and PLN 1,500 per month with a minimum three-month agreement. A business starting from scratch will pay about PLN 3,900 in the first month (PLN 900 media budget, PLN 1,500 setup and PLN 1,500 management), then about PLN 2,400 monthly because setup is a one-off cost.
What is the minimum daily Facebook advertising budget?
Meta technically lets you start with a few PLN a day, but a conversion campaign below PLN 25-30 per day per ad set collects too few events for the algorithm to learn. At that level, you pay for impressions rather than optimisation. One adequately funded ad set is better than four starved ones.
How much does a Facebook ad click cost in Poland?
Market CPC ranges in Poland are roughly PLN 0.40-2.50, while CPM, the cost of a thousand impressions, is around PLN 15-45. This money goes to Meta, not the agency. The specific rate depends on the industry, audience, creative quality and season. In November and December, rates can rise by several dozen percent because you are bidding against the whole e-commerce market.
How much must you spend before a Facebook campaign shows results?
Meta takes an ad set out of the learning phase after about 50 optimisation events within seven days. At PLN 40 per lead, that means PLN 2,000 in a week for one ad set. With a smaller budget, learning lasts longer and the first two weeks are not a basis for conclusions. Plan 4-6 weeks for a meaningful test.
Should an agency charge a percentage of the advertising budget?
A budget commission is fair only when it is transparent and calculable. For a one-off Meta Ads campaign, we charge PLN 400 plus 10% of the budget; ongoing management uses a fixed monthly fee. The problem begins when an agency hides its margin in a combined invoice and does not show how much actually went to Meta. Then you cannot verify customer acquisition cost.
Who should own the Facebook Ads account?
You should. The ad account and Business Manager must belong to your business, with the agency given partner access. If campaigns run in the agency account, ending the relationship means losing campaign history, pixel data and lookalike audiences collected over months. This is the most expensive ownership mistake in Facebook advertising.
One final point: Meta budget and management fees are separate items, and the ad account remains yours regardless of who runs the campaigns. Have a question not covered here? Email biuro@digidraft.pl. We reply within 24 working hours.
