How much does a logo cost? The short answer

A logo costs from PLN 650 for a design with two concepts and a complete set of files to PLN 1,800 for a mark with a full logo manual. If you need more than a symbol and want a consistent brand across business cards and emails, visual identity falls in the PLN 2,600-4,600 range. All prices exclude VAT, with turnaround times of 7 to 14 days.

The question “how much does a logo cost?” comes up in every conversation about launching a brand, and almost always comes down to the same thing: online, you can get a logo for PLN 50, while an agency talks in thousands. Both figures are real, but they refer to entirely different things.

Our prices at a glance:

  • Logo, Basic package: PLN 650, 7 days
  • Logo, Standard package: PLN 1,100, 10 days
  • Logo, Full package with logo manual: PLN 1,800, 14 days
  • Visual identity, starter package: PLN 2,600, 14 days
  • Visual identity, comprehensive package: PLN 4,600, 21 days

Below, I break down what increases the cost of logo design, what you actually receive in your files, and why a logo bought on a freelance marketplace can cost more than a properly designed one.

Logo pricing is not a lottery. Five factors determine it, and each can be named directly.

Where it will be used. A logo for a one-person service business lives on a website, in email and on a business card. A logo for a manufacturer moving onto shop shelves and packaging has to work in screen printing, on films, in embossing and in a single colour. Every additional medium means more variants to prepare and test.

Number of concepts. A designer does not draw one proposal and get it right immediately. Two concepts represent two different ways of thinking about a brand; three provide a real choice. Each takes time to research, sketch and refine.

Number of revision rounds. This is the item that most often blows the budget on projects without clear rules. Two revision sessions written into the contract are predictable. An open-ended promise to “revise until it works” ends with version fifteen and frustration on both sides.

Copyright. Transferring economic copyright by contract is a standard whose absence will come back to haunt you precisely when you want to register a trademark or hire someone else to rebrand.

There is also a variable that appears in no pricing table: how well you understand your own business. A client who knows whom they are speaking to and how they differ from three local competitors gets a suitable concept faster. A client still working that out spends part of the budget on revisions that are really about strategy, not shape.

Before sending an enquiry: write down whom you are speaking to and how you differ from three local competitors. Otherwise, part of your budget will go on revision rounds that are really about strategy, not the shape of the logo.

Documentation. A mini brand guide of a few pages costs less than a 12-20-page logo manual. The former is enough for a sole trader. In a company where three different people commission graphics, the absence of the latter means four versions of your own logo after a year.

Standard is the most popular choice. Three concepts give you something to choose from, and the mini brand guide solves the problem that appears a month after delivery: someone asks which orange you use and whether the logo can sit on a photograph.

If time is tight, we offer a 72-hour express turnaround for Basic and Standard. The surcharge is 50% of the package price because it requires rescheduling other projects.

You can buy a logo on a freelance marketplace for a few dozen zlotys. The problem is that the bill arrives later, and the line item is not called “logo”.

No vector file. You receive a 1000 px JPG. The printer asks for outlined artwork, the sign maker asks for a vector file, and you return to a designer who no longer replies. Redrawing the logo from scratch costs about as much as a proper design would have cost in the first place.

Unreadable at 32 px. A favicon, Facebook avatar, app icon. At those sizes, thin lines merge into a blob and three words inside the symbol disappear. A good design is tested from business-card size to banner size; a cheap one is not tested at all.

Conflict with another logo. Generators and cheap marketplaces favour the same shape libraries. The risk of your mark being the twin of a company logo from the neighbouring region is real. If someone registered the mark first, replacing signs, packaging and vehicle wraps costs many times more than the design.

No print files. A single-colour version, a reversed version, conversion to CMYK, clear space. Without these, every print order starts with a question you cannot answer.

In brief: PLN 50 buys an image. PLN 650-1,800 buys a logo that works on a business card, as a favicon and on a company vehicle, together with the rights to it. The difference shows up at the first print run, not on delivery day.

To understand what separates a good logo from a pretty one, read our article on how to create a logo that attracts attention. It covers the design side: symbolism, colour and legibility.

What the package includes and what you will actually use

A logo package can look intimidating because it may contain more than a dozen files. In practice, you use three of them day to day.

  • SVG is the foundation. It scales without losing quality, goes on your website and goes to the printer. This is the file you send when someone asks for a “vector logo”.
  • PNG with a transparent background is for presentations, documents and anything that ends up in PowerPoint or an email.
  • PDF is the format for printers and contractors who cannot open SVG.

Then there are logo variants: horizontal and vertical compositions, the symbol without the wordmark, a single-colour version and a reversed version for dark backgrounds. They look excessive until you find that a horizontal logo will not fit in a footer, while the symbol works perfectly.

Check this on delivery: open the SVG and shrink the logo to favicon size. If it becomes a blob at 32 px, it is better to raise the issue now than look for a designer a year later.

The logo manual included in Full is a separate matter. You do not read it every day, but you send it to every printer, agency and freelancer you work with. They will find clear space, minimum sizes, the RGB and CMYK palette, typography choices and prohibited uses. This keeps the brand looking the same on a flyer, in an ad and on a T-shirt two years later.

A logo versus a complete visual identity

A logo is a mark. An identity is the system that defines how the brand behaves everywhere beyond that mark.

A logo alone is enough when you are just starting and need to brand your website, Instagram profile and invoices. Buy a logo package, launch, and add the rest later. That is a sensible sequence when your budget is in hundreds rather than thousands.

Visual identity starts paying off when the brand moves beyond the screen. Business cards at meetings, letterhead in proposals, a consistent email signature, unified post templates. The PLN 2,600 starter package covers those basics in 14 days. The PLN 4,600 comprehensive option adds a logo manual, social media templates and brochures: everything a company with a sales department and regular print requirements needs.

A simple test: if someone in your company made a graphic “quickly in Canva” in the past month, you need a visual identity, not another logo version. The full item-by-item bill for a brand system is in our separate article on how much visual identity costs. If you also need flyers, banners and catalogues, prices start at PLN 150-380 per item; see our advertising materials service.

How long logo design takes

From 7 to 14 working days, depending on the package. We finish Basic in a week, Standard in 10 days and Full with a complete logo manual in two weeks. Starter identity also takes 14 days; comprehensive identity takes 21.

Those deadlines assume one thing: that you answer questions and return with feedback. Logo design gets held up by client decisions, not the designer. A brief filled out in five minutes followed by a week of silence after the first presentation can stretch one week of work into a calendar month.

The sequence is straightforward. First the brief and competitor research, then sketches and concepts, a presentation, two revision sessions on the chosen direction, and final files. Revisions need to be specific. “I am not feeling it” sends the project back to the start; “the text is too close to the symbol and the left side of the symbol is too heavy” moves it forward.

Allow a buffer for work around the design, too. Trademark registration with the Patent Office is a separate procedure not included in our scope, business cards take several working days to print, and replacing the logo on your website and social profiles takes another afternoon. If the logo needs to launch on a particular date, count backwards from that date, not forwards from the order.

For a genuinely urgent launch, there is express delivery: 72 hours for Basic and Standard with a 50% surcharge. It works for trade fairs and print deadlines; it does not work for a brand you are still figuring out in your head.

Warning signs in a logo quote

Most failed logo projects could have been spotted at the proposal stage. Here are the signals that mean it is worth declining and asking someone else.

  1. Stock icons. If you recognise a shape from a free icon library in the presentation, you are buying someone else’s work under a licence you do not control. You cannot register that mark as your trademark.
  2. No copyright transfer agreement. Without that document, you are a user of your logo rather than its owner. Ask about economic copyright transfer before paying the deposit, not after delivery.
  3. “A logo in 24 hours” without a brief. A mark made without discussing the business, customers and competition is a random choice of shape. A short deadline alone is not the problem; a deadline without a brand discovery stage is.
  4. No breakdown in the quote. “Logo, PLN 900” does not tell you how many concepts or revision rounds you get, or which files. Ask for a breakdown and you will immediately see what you are comparing.
  5. Only a JPG preview at the end. Accepting a project without vectors and variants means coming back six months later for files nobody has any more.

How to commission a logo without overpaying

Before sending an enquiry, establish three things: where the logo will appear, who will use it and when it needs to be ready. Those answers are enough to choose a package and reduce the quote process to one conversation.

Then compare proposals with the same scope, not just their totals. Number of concepts, revision rounds, complete formats, rights transfer, documentation. Two proposals that differ by PLN 400 may differ by an entire set of files.

One final, less obvious point. A logo does not have to be perfect immediately; it has to remain usable for the coming years. A PLN 650 logo that works at 32 px and comes as a vector is worth more than a PLN 3,000 logo nobody can print.

Summary: what to remember

A logo costs from PLN 650 for two concepts and a complete file set to PLN 1,800 for a mark with a full logo manual. If the brand needs to move beyond the screen, visual identity costs PLN 2,600-4,600. Price depends on usage, concepts, revision rounds, documentation and copyright transfer, not just the final shape. A marketplace logo can be the most expensive option because the bill arrives at the first print run: no vector, no variants and no certainty that the shape belongs to you. Turnaround times of 7-14 days only work when you return with specific feedback, so count backwards from the launch date rather than forwards from the order. Compare proposals by scope: two quotes differing by PLN 400 may differ by an entire set of files.

FAQ: common questions about logo costs

Five questions that recur when pricing a logo: price ranges, deadlines, copyright and the boundary between a logo alone and an identity. Short answers here; details in the sections above.

How much does logo design for a small business cost?

Our basic logo design includes two concepts, two revision sessions and SVG, PNG and PDF files for PLN 650, with 7 days of work. The option with a mini brand guide (colours, font and usage rules) costs PLN 1,100 and takes 10 days. Prices exclude VAT.

What is the difference between a PLN 650 and a PLN 1,800 logo?

The number of concepts and the scope of documentation. PLN 650 includes 2 proposals and a complete set of files. PLN 1,100 includes 3 proposals plus a mini brand guide. PLN 1,800 includes 3 proposals and a full 12-20-page logo manual: logo variants, clear space, minimum sizes, RGB and CMYK colours, and examples of use.

Are copyright rights included in the logo price?

They should be, and ours are. When you commission a logo, we transfer the economic copyright to you by contract. If a designer will not sign a rights transfer or offers a one-year licence, the logo is not fully yours, which can cause problems when rebranding or registering it with the Patent Office.

How long does logo design take?

From 7 to 14 working days, depending on the package: 7 days for Basic, 10 days with a mini brand guide, and 14 days with a full logo manual. For urgent launches, Basic and Standard are available with a 72-hour express turnaround for a surcharge of 50% of the package price.

A logo, or a complete visual identity straight away?

A logo alone is enough when you are just starting and need to brand a website and social media profile. The starter identity package (logo, business cards, letterhead and email signature) costs PLN 2,600 and makes sense when your business issues invoices, attends meetings and prints materials. The comprehensive option with a logo manual and social media templates costs PLN 4,600.

One thing to remember: compare logo proposals by scope, including concepts, revision rounds, files and rights transfer, rather than the total at the bottom of the quote. Have a question we have not covered? Email biuro@digidraft.pl. We reply within 24 business hours.
