How much does social media management cost in 2026? Agency, freelancer and in-house prices
Social media management runs from PLN 600 / month for one platform to PLN 1,900 / month for four. Agency, freelancer and in-house costs compared.
How much social media management costs: the answer in numbers
The question usually comes up in the first minute of a conversation, and it deserves an answer without a warm-up.
In 2026, social media management by an agency costs from PLN 600 per month for one platform to PLN 1,900 per month for four. A freelancer usually charges PLN 800-2,500 for one or two platforms. An in-house employee comes to around PLN 8,300 per month in total cost.
These three figures look like a choice between cheap, mid-range and expensive. That is an illusion, because each of them buys something different. PLN 600 buys you a presence and some order. PLN 1,900 buys presence, moderation, video and a campaign. PLN 8,300 buys a person who sits in your office from 8 to 4 and also does ten other things.
There is a fourth route, and it is the one businesses most often choose at the start: you run the profile yourself. This option has a price; it just has no invoice. Realistically, that is 12-20 hours of your time a month, and if your hour is worth PLN 120, the bill comes to PLN 1,440-2,400. The difference is that you pay it in the evenings and at weekends.
This article takes the cost apart piece by piece. First, we show exactly what you pay for in a retainer, because “profile management” is a trade name for eight different jobs. Then come specific rates, a comparison of four models including their hidden costs, seven factors that push the price up, and a way to calculate whether the investment stands a chance of paying off in your business.
One thing straight away, because it comes up in every conversation: the budget for paid ads is a separate amount. The retainer covers the work, not the impressions. We break down what buying reach itself costs in our article on the cost of Facebook advertising.
See what you pay forWhat you actually pay for in a social media retainer
A business owner who sees “social media management, PLN 1,100” on an invoice has every right to ask what lies behind it. After all, they see eight posts. Eight pictures with text, in their view an hour’s work.
A post is the end of the process, not the whole of it. Before a graphic reaches the profile, someone has had to decide what the business should be talking about at all, come up with twelve topics for the month, write twelve texts that differ from last year’s, design the material in the brand’s identity, put it into the calendar, get approval, publish at sensible times, reply to comments and, at the end of the month, show what came of it.
A simple test for any proposal: ask for the retainer to be broken down into its components and hours. If the provider cannot say how much work goes into strategy, how much into graphics and how much into moderation, they do not track it themselves. The end-of-month report will look much the same.

From which package
A one-off 2-week onboarding: persona, goals, KPIs, tone of voice. Then adjusted every quarter.
Onboarding in every package, quarterly summary from 3 platforms
Topic research and mapping out the month. Ours is ready by the 25th, and you approve it with one email.
The most underrated item. Text, hashtags, CTA, versions for different platforms.
Designed in your identity, not a template from a free library. Outside the package, PLN 120-240 each.
Edited from your footage or stock. Filming at your premises is a separate production.
Checking the profile daily, 9 am-5 pm on weekdays. The item that eats up the most unplanned time.
PDF plus spreadsheet: reach, engagement, followers, website traffic, cost per conversion. By the 5th of the month.
Setting up and monitoring campaigns. You pay the ad budget separately, straight to the platform.
Moderation deserves a separate mention, because clients routinely leave it out when comparing proposals. Publishing can be planned in advance. A comment under a post about prices cannot. Someone has to log in, read it, reply in the brand’s voice and know what not to say in public. That is why moderation only comes in from two platforms in our packages, and the PLN 600 package does not include it. We would rather say so plainly than promise it and reply once a week.
Crises are a separate matter. One bad review can collect forty comments on a Saturday. We have a procedure for this: we contact you within 2 hours of the report, prepare a position and moderate, but no statement goes out without your approval. We agree the crisis plan at the start, not in the middle of the fire.
Social media management prices in 2026: packages and market ranges
Our rates are public and listed in the agency price list. The four packages differ by the number of platforms, because that drives the amount of work more than anything else: each additional platform means a different format, a different language and a different publishing rhythm.

Graphics, copy, publishing, monthly report. No moderation.
Everything in package 1 plus comment moderation 9 am-5 pm on weekdays.
Plus Reels and TikToks, and a quarterly strategy.
Plus one paid campaign per month (the budget is on your side).
The contract runs for a minimum of 3 months, then continues month to month with a 30-day notice period. This is not a trick to tie clients in. A quarter is the shortest period in which anything can be measured: the first month goes on getting to know the brand and testing formats, the second on adjustments, and the third shows the direction. After that, you can move up or down a package with a month’s notice, and an upgrade takes effect from the very next month.
What comes on top of the retainer
A few items are deliberately left out of the monthly fee, because not every client needs them, and not every month:
- Ad budget, paid directly to Meta or TikTok. The suggested minimum is PLN 500 per month; below that, a campaign has nothing to learn from. We add no markup to this amount.
- Extra graphics outside the package, for example for a newsletter or outdoor advertising: PLN 120-240 each, depending on complexity.
- Reels filmed at your premises: a single business reel with a script and editing costs PLN 450, and a package of four reels a month is PLN 1,500 / month.
- Product photo shoot of up to 30 photos: PLN 1,800. A one-off expense that keeps the profile supplied with material for several months.
- Video ad of 30-60 seconds: from PLN 1,800.
- Ongoing campaign management for Facebook and Instagram Ads: PLN 1,500 setup plus PLN 1,500 per month, separate from profile management.
- Paid licences for music and photos. Standard libraries, including Meta and TikTok audio, are included in the price. We buy Shutterstock or Epidemic Sound licences on your behalf with zero markup.
There is also an option for businesses that do not want to put services together piece by piece. The Start package at PLN 1,900 / month combines local SEO, one social media platform, Google Business Profile management and a joint report. For a local service business, that is usually a more sensible first move than four platforms with no visibility in Google Maps.
Market ranges
Outside our price list, the market looks roughly like this. A freelancer charges PLN 800-2,500 per month for one or two platforms, with the lower end usually meaning just publishing materials you supply. Agencies sit in the PLN 1,500-6,000 per month range, and with three platforms, regular video and campaigns, rates go higher. Offers below PLN 500 for full management do exist; it is just that nobody will write twelve original texts for that money.
Agency, freelancer, in-house or DIY: what it really costs
Comparing these four models on the rate alone will lead you astray, because in only one of them does the price you see at the start equal the total cost.
Start with the in-house option, because it is the most often underestimated. A social media manager with two years’ experience expects around PLN 6,500 gross in Białystok. The total employer cost at that salary is roughly PLN 7,800 per month, because employer-side social insurance contributions are added on top of gross pay. Then there are tools: a design suite, a post scheduler, a stock library and music licences, PLN 200-400 per month in total. Equipment spread over two years adds another PLN 200. That comes to PLN 8,300-8,500 per month before anyone has published a single post.
Then there are things that do not show up in a spreadsheet. 26 days of leave a year that someone has to cover. Recruitment and a month of onboarding. The risk that the person leaves after six months and you start from scratch. On the other hand, an in-house hire buys something no retainer can: immediate availability and knowledge of the business from the inside.
The four models side by side
DIY and freelancer
- DIY: PLN 1,440-2,400 of hidden cost per month (12-20 h × PLN 120 per hour of your time).
- Pros: no invoice, full knowledge of the product, the owner’s authentic voice.
- Cons: the first week you are snowed under with work wipes out the posts. You can tell from the rhythm that the profile is written “whenever there is time”.
- Freelancer: PLN 800-2,500 / month for 1-2 platforms.
- Pros: a cheap and flexible arrangement, direct contact with the person doing the work.
- Cons: a holiday or illness stops the profile. Rarely covers graphics, video and campaigns in a single rate.
Agency and in-house
- Agency: PLN 600-1,900 / month with us, PLN 1,500-6,000 / month across the market.
- Pros: continuity that does not depend on one person; a designer, a copywriter and a campaign specialist for one price; a report with numbers every month.
- Cons: the agency is not inside your business. It needs materials from you and approval of the calendar.
- In-house: approx. PLN 8,300 / month in total cost at PLN 6,500 gross.
- Pros: immediate availability, knowledge of the business, same-day reaction to events.
- Cons: holidays, recruitment, staff turnover. With one platform, there is not enough work to fill a full-time role.
Which model should you choose, and when? The rule I repeat to clients: if social media is a supporting channel for you, buy a service. If it is your main source of sales and you need a response within the hour, hire someone. A Białystok construction company that wins jobs through referrals and Google does not need a full-time Instagram employee. A clothing brand selling only through Instagram and TikTok will not keep up the pace on a PLN 600 package.
A hybrid also makes sense and is often the cheapest option: you film your work on your phone, because only you have access to it, and the agency turns it into edits, copy and posts. In service businesses, this split works better than anything else, because it solves the industry’s biggest problem: a lack of authentic material.
What determines the price of social media management
Two businesses ask for the same service and get quotes a thousand zlotys apart. There are usually seven things behind that.
Number of platforms. The biggest factor. Each additional platform is not copy and paste but a different format, different graphic proportions and a different language. The same post will not work on both LinkedIn and TikTok, if only because on one it is read by a manager on a Wednesday morning and on the other it is watched by someone in a checkout queue.
Content format. A static graphic costs a fraction of what video does. A reel involves a script, filming, editing, captions and licensed music, which is why a single reel priced separately costs PLN 450. In the three-platform package, Reels are included, but edited from material you supply or from a stock library.
Moderation. The item whose time demands are hardest to predict. A post goes out once; comments keep coming for a week. A shop profile with a thousand comments a month is a completely different job from a B2B company profile with two.
Frequency. The difference between five and twenty posts a month is not fourfold in price, because part of the work (strategy, research, reporting) is spread across the whole. But the difference is real, and you can see it in the package ranges.
Industry. Medicine, finance, law and dietary supplements have regulations that cannot be overlooked. Every sentence goes through an extra filter, sometimes through a lawyer on the client’s side. That lengthens the approval cycle and raises the cost.
Materials on your side. A business that has a product shoot, its logo in source files and photos of completed work pays less, because the provider assembles content instead of producing it. A business without materials either pays for a shoot on top or gets posts built on stock, which look like everything else in the industry.
Paid campaigns. Running ads is a separate skill and a separate line item. The PLN 1,900 package includes one campaign per month. Ongoing, more extensive Meta Ads management costs PLN 1,500 setup plus PLN 1,500 per month, independent of the profile management retainer.
The cheapest way to lower the bill: do one proper photo shoot and record a stock of footage on your phone. A product shoot of up to 30 photos costs PLN 1,800 as a one-off and keeps the calendar supplied for several months. That is cheaper than paying extra for graphics at PLN 120-240 each all year round.
How many platforms make sense for your business
The reflex is always the same: if I am paying, I want to be everywhere. The result is always the same too. Four profiles, each with the same post cropped to different proportions, and nothing happening on any of them.
A platform makes sense when your customers spend time there and when you have a format for them that works there. Two conditions, not one.
Local service (construction, car repair, clinics and salons, food service). Facebook, because that is where neighbourhood groups, recommendations and local events live. Add a Google Business Profile, which does more for a Białystok business than Instagram. One platform plus the profile, meaning PLN 600 / month, or the Start package at PLN 1,900 / month together with local SEO.
Visual brand (interiors, beauty, fashion, photography, cake shops). Instagram as the main channel, because the product sells through images, plus Facebook with part of the content shared to it automatically. Two platforms, PLN 1,100 / month. Add Reels when you have something to show in motion.
E-commerce. Facebook and Instagram to start with, TikTok as a third once the product suits video. Here, a profile without an ad budget makes little sense, because organic reach for online shops has fallen to a level that posting frequency cannot rescue. Budget PLN 1,500 / month for management plus a realistic media budget.
B2B and professional services. LinkedIn, often as the only platform. Two substantive posts a month from someone who knows the subject do more than twenty graphics. Here, the owner’s personal profile usually has greater reach than the company page, so the work goes into both at once.
One rule applies to all four cases: one platform run for six months beats four run for two. Algorithms reward consistency, and audiences need time to even notice that something is happening on the profile. With us, you can move up a package after three months, effective from the following month, so starting with one platform does not close any doors.
A separate point: the narrower the audience, the better it works to tailor the message to a specific segment instead of one post for everyone. We describe what running that kind of communication looks like at a larger scale in our article on 1-to-1 message personalisation.
How to tell you are overpaying (or that an offer is too cheap)
The price on its own says nothing. PLN 1,900 per month can be a bargain or money thrown away. What decides it is what you get and what you can check.
Signs you are paying too much
You do not get a report with numbers. Instead, you get an email along the lines of “posts are out, reach is growing”. The report should include reach, engagement rate, follower growth, traffic sent to the website and cost per conversion for paid campaigns. Without that, you have no way of judging whether PLN 1,100 a month is working.
The publishing calendar does not follow from a strategy. You can tell by the topics: Cat Day, Pizza Day, “have a lovely weekend” over a sunset. That is filler, not brand communication. The calendar should answer your customers’ questions and lead to your offer.
Posts go out from the agency’s account. The biggest formal risk in this service. When the work ends, you are left without your post history, without audience data and sometimes without access to your own profile. We publish from the client’s account through Business Manager, using admin roles, with no passwords exchanged. After termination, we hand back access, source files and the calendar archive.
You pay for a platform your customers are not on. TikTok for a steel wholesaler costs the same as for a clothing brand and brings in nothing.
You do not know how much of your budget went to Meta. A single invoice that does not separate management from ad budget makes it impossible to calculate your customer acquisition cost. The budget should go straight to the platform from your card.
Signs an offer is suspiciously cheap
A guaranteed number of followers. Nobody honest will promise that. Followers can be bought, and then you get accounts that will never buy anything but do drag down your engagement statistics and the reach of later posts.
Four platforms, daily posts, moderation and Reels for PLN 500. Do the maths: that is about 30 pieces of content a month. Even at twenty minutes per piece, that comes to ten hours of work, meaning a rate below fifty zlotys an hour including tools and licences. An offer like that ends with mass-produced content, identical for ten different clients.
No onboarding and no questions about your business. If the provider already knows what to publish after a single email, it means they will be publishing a template.
No contract and no termination clause. A contract protects both sides. With us: a minimum of 3 months, then month to month with a 30-day notice period, and a full handover of materials when the work ends.
What you need before you pay anyone
The worst-spent money in social media is a retainer paid by a business that has nothing to fill the profile with. The provider gets a low-quality logo, three phone photos from two years ago and the instruction “make it look cool”. The result is predictable.
Four things are worth having in place first.
Visual identity. Logo in source files, colour palette, fonts, usage rules. Without these, every graphic is guesswork, and after six months the profile looks like a patchwork of styles. If you do not have one, visual identity is an expense you make once, and it lowers the cost of every marketing service that follows. The order matters: first the brand, then its communication.
Photos and video footage. Your own, not stock. Photos of products, people, completed projects, your workshop. A product shoot of up to 30 photos costs PLN 1,800 and lasts for months. Add a stock of footage shot on your phone: the work in progress, a finished project, short answers to customer questions. Raw footage from a building site beats any stock graphic.
A settled tone of voice. Who speaks on behalf of the business, and how. The company as “we” or the owner as “I”. Whether we joke. Whether we respond to provocation. These are decisions made during onboarding, but the more you know about them beforehand, the sooner the profile starts to sound like you.
Access in order. A Business Manager set up in the company’s name, with the page and ad account under it, and admin roles instead of passwords circulating by email. Businesses regularly discover along the way that their Facebook page has been tied to a former employee’s private account for seven years. Better to sort that out before the work starts than in the middle of a campaign.
The order of spending when you start from zero: first your Google Business Profile and identity, then one social media platform, and paid campaigns last. The reverse order is the most common way to burn through the first few thousand zlotys.
How to calculate whether social media management pays off
The calculation is simpler than it looks, and most businesses never do it.
Take a local service business. The two-platform package, PLN 1,100 per month. Average job value PLN 1,200, margin 35 percent, which means PLN 420 profit per job. To break even, the profile has to bring in 2.6 jobs a month. In practice, you count three.
How many enquiries does it take to get three jobs? With an enquiry-to-job conversion rate of 30 percent, typical for local services with visible prices, you need ten enquiries a month from social media. That is your break-even point, and also the number you check in the report instead of looking at reach.
Change one variable and the calculation turns upside down. If the average job is worth PLN 300 at the same margin, you need thirty-five enquiries a month, and then social media has to work on volume, meaning with an ad budget. If a job is worth PLN 15,000, one per quarter is enough and the profile pays for itself with room to spare.
What to measure instead of reach
- Enquiries tagged by source. The simplest version: ask every caller how they heard about the business, and write it down. Without that, everything else is guesswork.
- Website traffic from social media. The number of sessions and what people do on the site. A hundred visits that leave within three seconds are not a result.
- Cost per enquiry. The retainer plus the ad budget, divided by the number of enquiries. This one number says more than an entire reach report.
- Engagement rate instead of follower count. A profile with a thousand followers and a hundred reactions per post is worth more than one with ten thousand followers and five.
- Consistency. Whether results hold for three months, or whether one viral post inflated the average.
When should you expect results? Content quality and engagement change from the first month, because that comes down to simply putting your communication in order. Steady growth in followers and website traffic takes 3-4 months. Sales depend on the offer, the product price and the ad budget, so here we test hypotheses every month instead of promising a date. Anyone who promises sales from your profile within thirty days is selling you hope.
Summary: what to remember
The cost of social media management is not a single number but a function of scope. The sooner you pin down the scope, the less time you will spend comparing proposals.
In a nutshell
- Agency: PLN 600 / month for one platform, PLN 1,100 for two with moderation, PLN 1,500 for three with Reels, PLN 1,900 for four with a campaign. Minimum 3 months, then a 30-day notice period.
- Freelancer: PLN 800-2,500 per month for one or two platforms, with the risk of downtime during holidays and illness.
- In-house: around PLN 8,300 per month in total cost at PLN 6,500 gross, including tools and equipment.
- DIY: 12-20 hours a month, or PLN 1,440-2,400 of your time that never appears on an invoice.
- The ad budget is always separate, at least PLN 500 per month, paid straight to the platform.
- One platform run for six months beats four run for two months.
What to do this week
- Work out your break-even point: the retainer divided by your margin per job gives the number of jobs the profile has to bring in. Write it down before you sign anything.
- Check who the admin of your Facebook page is and whether the Business Manager belongs to the company. Fifteen minutes of work that can save you several weeks of account recovery.
- Review your materials: how many of your own photos and videos are ready to use. If fewer than twenty, plan a shoot before the retainer starts.
- Pick one platform to start with and one measurable goal for the quarter. The rest can wait.
A company profile is not a fixed cost you carry because it is the done thing. It is a sales channel with a specific break-even point that you can calculate before the first invoice. If the numbers do not add up after three months, what changes is the package or the channel, not the promises.
FAQ: common questions about social media management costs
Six questions that keep coming up in pricing conversations: whether the lowest package makes sense, freelancer rates, the real cost of an in-house hire, running the profile yourself, spotting overpayment and how many platforms to start with.
Is PLN 600 a month a sensible amount for social media management?
Yes, as long as you know what it buys. With us, PLN 600 / month covers one platform, 4-6 posts, graphics, copy and a report, without comment moderation. That level suits a business that wants a live, well-organised profile and answers messages itself. If someone offers four platforms, daily posts, Reels and moderation for that amount, they are running on automation and templates, because that much work does not fit into such a budget.
How much does a social media freelancer cost?
The market range is roughly PLN 800-2,500 per month for one or two platforms. The lower end usually means just publishing ready-made materials; the higher end covers strategy, graphics and video. A freelancer can be cheaper than an agency for a small scope, but the model has one built-in risk: illness, a holiday or a bigger project for another client puts your profile on hold, because there is nobody to take over the work.
How much does it cost to employ a full-time social media manager?
The salary is only part of the bill. At PLN 6,500 gross, the total employer cost is around PLN 7,800 per month, and on top of that come tools, licences, equipment and 26 days of annual leave that someone has to cover. Realistically, you end up at around PLN 8,300-8,500 per month. A full-time hire starts to pay off when social media is your main sales channel and the work fills a whole job, not two days a week.
Can I run my company’s social media myself for free?
Not for free, because you pay with your time. Running one platform properly realistically takes 12-20 hours a month: topics, photos, copy, publishing and replies to comments. If your hour is worth PLN 120, doing it yourself costs PLN 1,440-2,400 per month; the bill just never reaches the company account as an invoice. The model works when you have spare time and little cash, and stops working once you start skipping posts in busy weeks.
How can I tell I am overpaying for social media management?
By the lack of evidence. You do not get a report with numbers, you do not know how many enquiries came from the profile, and the publishing calendar follows no strategy, only a calendar of novelty holidays. The second sign is publishing from the agency’s account instead of your Business Manager, because when the contract ends you are left with no history and no audience. The third is a promise of a specific number of followers, which nobody can honestly guarantee.
How many social media platforms should I start with?
One, two at most, and only those where your customers actually spend time. A local business starts with Facebook, because that is where neighbourhood groups and recommendations are. A visual brand, restaurant or beauty business starts with Instagram. B2B goes to LinkedIn. Four platforms run poorly give a worse result than one run consistently for six months, and they cost three times as much.
The most common surprise in these conversations is not the price but the materials. Businesses assume the retainer covers producing photos and videos, when it covers editing and publishing them. That is why we start every pricing conversation by asking what you already have. Have a question that is not answered here? Email biuro@digidraft.pl or call +48 731 412 684.
